SAP-Auto Import of Transport requests

In many cases, we (Basis Consultant) need to setup auto import of transport request in Quality server when it is released in Development.

This will reduce the pain of Basis team to move transports to quality system.

This can be achieved by performing the below steps

1) The first pre-requisite to have a fully configured TMS configuration with transport routes in a three system landscape (Just taking it as example).

2) Goto transport routes in STMS T-code from Domain controller (000 client) and select any one of the system and goto edit mode and check the System attribute Tab & in Transport strategy it should be defined as Queue-controlled transports. Then save and distribute to all systems.

 3)  Goto STMS_IMPORT T-code in Quality server and select, Import all requests button           

4)  In the appeared Dailog box mention the target system to import all requests.

5) On the tab Date/deadline, choose the At Start Time radio button, then specify the date/time you want the import to start for the very first time, then choose the drop down on the Period field and select the desired frequency.

 7)  On the tab page Execution, you can specify how you want the transport control program tp to start.

8) On the tab page Options, you can specify options for the import. You do not usually need to change the defaults until it is necessary.

9) After you have made your settings in the Start Import dialog box, choose Continue.

10) Check and confirm the information on the next dialog box. The dialog box shows you in which system and which target client the import is to be started or is scheduled for.

Note:- At this step make sure the import buffer of quality server is empty, other wise all the transports in the buffer will get import once confirmation is given.

11) Now configuration is ready, you can try releasing a transport request from Development and check whether it is imported into Quality at 15 Mins (example) of interval.
